Midterm Reflection

A look back on my progress and highlights from the first half of the semester.

Knowing that our PATHFIT 3 would be focusing on dancing, I felt a bit nervous. For someone with a stiff body, dancing is the last thing I would consider my strength. But when I found out that our topic for the whole semester would be dancercise, I felt a bit of relief. Finally, something I could do! Haha. When I first heard "dancercise," the first thing that came to mind was Zumba. But little did I know, this dancercise class would completely change my perspective on dancing.

After our individual dancercise activity, I found myself incorporating my own little "tiramisu cake" dance into my daily routine. It was simple, but by the end, I was sweaty, energized, and felt really happy. Dancing quickly became my stress reliever. I may not be an expert dancer yet, but it helped me realize the importance of finding joy in movement, no matter how simple or imperfect. It taught me that fitness isn’t always about perfection, but about enjoying the process, improving little by little, and connecting with myself in a way I hadn’t before. Dancing has become something I look forward to now, and it’s amazing how something as simple as a few dance steps can make such a positive impact on my mood and energy.
